Filled with baked apples and cinnamon flavor, these apple pie bites are a delicious fall treat!
As fall is fast approaching, it's time to flavor everything with pumpkin. Now I love a good pumpkin dessert as much as the next person, but I'm much more excited about all the apple treats that fall brings. Especially when it comes to desserts like caramel apple cookies!
One of my absolute favorite fall desserts is the crunchy apple with a scoop of vanilla ice cream; however, peeling and slicing all apples may take a little time. Plus, my little guy likes to help me make delicious treats for all seasons, so I always try to think of easy recipes that we can make together.
Recipes that only contain a few ingredients are always very popular in my book, because trying to work on a twenty-step recipe with a four-year-old child will not end well.
Enter the recipe for apple pie bites ... with just two basic ingredients, this dessert recipe comes together in no time. Plus, it's fun to do with the kids! In less than 20 minutes, these apple pie bites are cooked and ready to eat.
How to make apple pie bites
You will need two boxes of croissant rolls and a box of apple pie filling for this recipe, plus a few teaspoons of sugar and cinnamon.
Start by unrolling and separating the crescent rolls. Coat a muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray and place a crescent roll triangle in each pan. Add a tablespoon of apple pie filling to the top of the dough.
Mix a teaspoon of cinnamon with two teaspoons of sugar. Sprinkle over the apple pie filling, then pull the sides of the dough to cover the filling. Do not worry if there are holes, the dough will rise a little during cooking. Sprinkle a little more of the cinnamon sugar mixture on the dough before baking at 375 for about 15 minutes.
Let the apple pie bites cool for a few minutes before removing them from the muffin pan. Serve hot and if you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container. They would also be delicious to serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a cool fall night!
